Upgrade from 86mm gauges to a modern cabin display

maxAI 280

Transition to modern gauge design

In 1914, Studebaker were the first automobile manufacturer to introduce a dash mounted gauge, (replacing a simple stick, or later a wooden ruler, that was dipped into the tank to read the level). Over the last 110 years, the vehicle gauge has become incredibly popular and gained functionality to share required information including, fuel levels, tachometers, speed, hourmeters and engine diagnostic information including pressure and temperature. This has resulted in machines using dedicated gauges for each parameter, combination gauges for some related information, and clusters for localizing the instrumentation.

Upgrade to the maxAI 280

Replacing traditional gauges in mobile machines like forklifts, backhoes and skidsteers with a single maxAI 280 display offers numerous advantages. The maxAI 280 can integrate multiple screens of information into one unit, allowing operators to view all critical data in one place. This reduces the need to install and read multiple gauges, enhancing situational awareness and decision-making speed.

The display can be configured to show different types of data based on the operator’s needs. For example, it can switch between hydraulic pressure, fuel levels, engine temperature, and load indicators with just the press of a button. Thanks to its 86mm SAE form factor, the maxAI 280 is designed to fit into existing dashboards, making it a straightforward replacement for traditional gauges without the need for extensive modifications.

Improve performance and reliability of machinery

Thanks to its efficient microcontroller-based platform the maxAI 280 can provide real-time alerts and diagnostic codes, helping operators quickly identify and address potential issues before they become critical.

A single display reduces dashboard clutter, providing a cleaner and more organized workspace for operators and lets them focus on the task at hand. With high outdoor readability and customizable display modes, the maxAI 280 ensures that critical information is always visible, even in harsh lighting conditions, like bright sunlight.

Replacing an array of traditional gauges with a single maxAI 280 offers significant benefits in terms of efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness. This transition not only enhances the operator’s experience but also contributes to the overall performance and reliability of the machinery.
